~  Want to know more about us?  ~

Our purpose is to glorify God and to advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ.  We seek to attain these goals through the public worship of God, the preaching of the gospel to win lost souls to Christ, the edification and equipping of believers for consistent Christian living, missionary endeavor and Christian education.  At Calvary Baptist, the Word of God is accepted in its entirety.
In our name is the all-important word Calvary.  What really happened there?  Is this just some crutch that people use to get through life?  Our motto can be summed up from the Bible.  It reads, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake” (II Corinthians 4:5).  Another thought about the “cross” is found in I Corinthians 1:18.  It says, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”  We seek to help others experience the power of Calvary in their everyday lives.
We believe that our responsibility is not only to be evangelistic but also to be instructive by preaching the Word of God.  It is through the preaching and teaching of God's Word that we grow.  We strive not only to let everyone know Him but we also want each person to be like Him.

Statement Of Faith

1. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2. We believe in God the Father: creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power.

3. We believe in Jesus Christ: God’s only begotten son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless in His life and making atonement for the sin of the world by His death on the cross.

4. We believe in the Holy Spirit: Who came forth from God to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.

5. We believe that all men by nature are born sinners, but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

6. We believe in the Church: a living, spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members.

7. We believe that every human being is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith.

8. We believe that each church is independent and autonomous and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority.
